Course Requirements
Course Content
No specific guidance or restrictions on course content are provided by the Board.  The course must have a "clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve, or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee's field of practice".

Accepted activities include (a) completing college courses, (b) completing courses awarding CEU credits, (c) attending seminars, classes, or technical presentations, (d) teaching courses, seminars, or technical presentations (limited to 10 PDH per biennial renewal period), (e) publishing papers, articles, or books, (f) receiving a U.S. patent, or (g) active participation in technical or professional societies.  See board website for more specific information.
Course Approval
The Board does not pre-approve specific courses.
Sponsor Approval
The Board does pre-approve course sponsors.  Engineers are not required to earn hours from an approved sponsor.

However, courses provided by an approved sponsor are deemed acceptable by the Board for PDH credit without scrutiny of individual course content.
Online Courses
Online courses are accepted.

There is no limit on the number of PDH's that can be earned through online continuing education.
