Course Content
No specific guidance or restrictions on course
content are provided by the Board. The course must have a clear
purpose and objective which will "maintain, improve, or expand
technical professional skills and
knowledge obtained before initial licensure or develop new
and relevant technical professional skills and knowledge."
Accepted activities include (a) completing college or university courses,
(b) completing courses awarding CEU credits, (c) attending
seminars or in-house programs, (d) authoring, teaching, or presenting courses, presentations, seminars, (e)
publishing papers, articles, or books or (f)
receiving a U.S. patent, or (g) actively participating in
technical profession societies or organizations. All activities shall be
"relevant to the practice of a technical profession and may
include technical ethical or managerial content."
Course Approval
The Board does not pre-approve specific courses. Each engineer must determine whether an activity
meets the Board's requirements.
Sponsor Approval
The Board does not pre-approve course sponsors.

April 30 of even-numbered years for licensees
whose last name begins with one of the letters A through L.
April 30 of odd-numbered years for licensees
whose last name begins with one of the letters M through Z.

A maximum of 30 PDH may be carried forward
into the next renewal period, except that no carry-over hours are allowed
for the first reporting period.
|
The responsibility of maintaining records
to be used to support credits claimed is the sole responsibility of the licensee.
Forms prescribed and furnished by the board shall be used.
The records must be maintained for a period of four years and copies
must be furnished, if requested, to the Board for audit verification
purposes.

Exemption from the PDH requirements include new licensees renewing
first time,
retired status, military service, or disability, illness or other
extenuating circumstance. Please
refer to the state board's website for specific requirements and time periods allowed.
